As you may know, the financial institutions that issue credit cards impose fees for the use of their cards. Since 2011, the CMA has absorbed those fees for our customers.
After 15 years these fees can no longer be absorbed. Starting on Wednesday, July 1st., we will be passing on the fees charged by the credit card issuers to the customers who choose to pay by card.
To be clear, these Service Fees are only being passed on to customers who pay by credit or debit cards. The current rate will be two percent of the bill plus 25 cents per transaction.
Customers can continue no-cost payments by paying by cash, check, money order, or eCheck payments from your checking or savings account.
