01/24/26: Automated Call Sent Providing Information to Protect Water Lines & Meter

On January 24, 2026, the following automated call was sent to all CMA customers:
“This is a recorded alert for all CMA customers reminding you that extreme cold can affect your water meter and water lines. Take these steps now to protect your home and water meter.
Insulate meters inside by wrapping in an old comforter or towels.
For meters outside in a pit, unless absolutely necessary do not open the pit during extreme cold.
As a precaution & especially if your pipes froze in the past, let the cold water run very slowly in one of your faucets. The best location for this is the faucet farthest from where the main water line enters the house, or on outside walls. A slight increase in your water bill can be better than the cost to replace frozen meters, water pipes, & property damage.
Locate your shut off valve now so you know where to turn water off if you need to.
