Additional Information About Checking Your Water Line for Lead Content
· Posted by CMA Admin in Updates
Following is additional information about the letter mailed to you notifying you that we will be checking if there is any lead in the owner’s privately-owned section of water line coming in to your property.
This letter was mailed to every customer in our service area with an active account, to make you aware of this DEP project.
All public water authorities in the state are mandated to determine the type of pipe making up the owner’s privately-owned water service line. If lead is found in that line, the CMA will replace that specific line at no cost to you.
There is nothing that you need to do at this time. As we have more information we will contact you regarding this program.
Be advised that we regularly obtain water samples from our lines and test for lead. Historical and current testing confirms that the water in the CMA’s lines contains no lead.
